aaNet utilises a number of wholesale networks, as well as our own in order to supply customers with an ADSL service. Each of these networks enables some specific methods for connecting and disconnecting a service.

These include:

• New Telstra-based ADSL connections
• New BroadbandNext ADSL connections
• New Optus-based ADSL connections

• Telstra-based “rapid transfer” (in/out)
• BroadbandNext “rapid transfer” (in/out)
• Optus-based “rapid transfer” (in/out)

• Cross-provider transfer (also known as SST) for BroadbandNext (in/out)
• LNP/ULL Porting onto BroadbandNext (in/out)
• LNP/ULL Porting onto Optus-resold services (in/out)

As the industry continues to roll out infrastructure, and network options increase, customers lose access to some methods of transfer and gain access to others.  The aaNet standard form of agreement (SFoA) empowers aaNet to determine the choice of network by which aaNet provides each service.  However, you should understand that aaNet is not obliged to maintain your service on any specific network, so that the means by which your service is connected or disconnected may vary from time to time.
